Dunelm (Soft Furnishings) Ltd

In 1979 our founder, Bill Adderley, saw an opportunity in textiles, so he and his wife Jean decided to invest in a batch of second-hand, ready-made curtains, ‘seconds’ curtains and bedding, and slippers. They set up their stall at Leicester Market, and by the early 1980s had opened their first high street shop. Our story really does begin at home. Dunelm is, in fact, the name of the house where Bill, Jean and family lived when they first started on the market stall.

Home isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling too. We believe truly feeling at home is one of the greatest joys in life.

We’ve come a long way in just over 40 years, from a stall on Leicester Market to over 200 stores, 100,000 products sold online, our own distribution and home delivery network, manufacturing centre, and customer care centre.

We want our customers to love the Dunelm experience, provide services that are helpful, and quality products that offer choice, all whilst being sustainable and great value.

If you like to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, you’ll enjoy working for Dunelm. We’re the UK's number one choice for homewares because we make home life smoother and comfier for our customers. And when our customers are happy, we’re happy. We recruit people from all types of backgrounds who share our entrepreneurial, hands-on approach to work.
