❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What can I compare on this page?
Three dimensions: Country Markets (national pet-industry scale and overview), Companies (suppliers, manufacturers and distributors with type, country, founded year, staff, revenue and OEM/ODM), and Brands (category, country, logo and web presence).
How many items can I compare at once?
Up to four items per dimension. This keeps the side-by-side table readable on desktop and mobile.
Where does the country market data come from?
Company, brand and manufacturer counts are derived from the GlobalPetIndex directory (the supply side indexed in each market). The macro rows — area, population, pet population, GDP, pet market size and per-capita spend — come from public references: CIA World Factbook (area), World Bank 2024 (GDP & population), FEDIAF 2024 for EU pet populations, and APPA / Euromonitor / national pet-trade associations for the remaining markets. Per-capita pet spend = pet market size ÷ national population. Estimated figures are marked with an asterisk (*).
Can I compare a brand and its manufacturer?
Yes. Use the Company dimension for the manufacturer and the Brand dimension for the consumer label. Many manufacturers own several brands, and we link both in the directory.
How do I compare from a company or brand page?
Open the profile and click “Add to compare”. The item is saved to your compare tray; when you have two or more, open the tray and hit Compare to see the side-by-side table.
Is the comparison data free?
Yes. Public profile fields are free to compare. Deeper contact and financial fields may require a Basic or Premium membership on the underlying profiles.
