The 28th Pet Fair Asia concluded its five-day run on August 23, 2026, at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), cementing its position as the world’s largest pet industry exhibition by scale. The event covered a record 320,000 square meters across 17 indoor and 10 outdoor halls, hosting more than 2,600 exhibitors from 32 countries.

Final attendance figures reached 130,000+ trade visitors and 390,000+ consumers, with the exhibition’s innovative VIP B2B Day on August 19 creating a dedicated invitation-only environment for core channel partners, international buyers, and media.

This year’s exhibition introduced three new themed zones: the Imported Premium Hall, Cat Lifestyle Hall, and Human-Pet Living Hall. EcoPaws Asia made its debut in partnership with the Pet Sustainability Coalition, featuring sustainability-certified exhibitors and targeted business matchmaking. The 15th International Pet Industry Summit — Asian CEO Summit drew over 760 attendees and 25+ speakers under the theme ‘Building a Caring, Vibrant and Sustainable Human-Pet Ecosystem.’

Product debuts underscored China’s shift from volume-driven to value-driven industry development. Notable launches included POLARIX smart chest harness with optical HR/HRV/heatstroke AI detection; Elanco’s 齐贝乐, China’s first 12-week endo-ecto cat parasiticide; CATLINK’s face-recognition multi-cat feeder; NUTRO’s 美士全护PLUS senior cat nutrition line; and Ruipai Pet Hospital’s closed-loop AI monitoring system integrating home monitoring, remote diagnosis, and offline care.

Takeaways

The concurrent Asia Pet Health and Food Summit examined precision nutrition, manufacturing innovation, and future brand strategies, reflecting the industry’s movement toward functionalization and clinical-grade product standards. The 2026 edition made clear that the Chinese pet market’s center of gravity has moved from scale to sophistication — AI-enabled hardware, sustainability certification, and clinically positioned nutrition now define the launch agenda.
