It traces its origins to Lucky Super Chain, founded in 1974, was renamed GS Supermarket and then rebranded as GS THE FRESH in 2019. The chain operates 603 stores nationwide, including 500 franchised outlets, making it the first Korean supermarket brand to reach 500 franchise stores. It focuses on fresh food, private-label ranges such as Real Price, and neighborhood grocery shopping, and offers one-hour quick-commerce delivery through its Our Neighborhood GS app and third-party delivery platforms.
