PetCity Co., Ltd. was incorporated in July 1998 as the Aeon Group's pet business company and is the direct predecessor of today's Aeon Pet Co., Ltd. - it merged with AHB International in February 2012 and was renamed Aeon Pet, so PetCity is NOT a separate chain from Aeon Pet / PETEMO but the same business under a retired banner. Aeon Pet progressively rebranded its stores and in December 2021 unified every remaining banner, including PetCity, under PETEMO. The petcity.co.jp domain no longer serves an active chain site; unrelated single-store businesses in Chiba use similar names.
