On 2 July 2026 the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) approved EBOS Group’s proposed acquisition of Paringa Pet Foods by its subsidiary Pet Care Distributors. The ACCC found that while the companies overlap in cat/dog food manufacturing and wholesale supply, market-share gain would be limited and competitive alternatives remain robust.
EBOS Group (NZX/ASX) is one of Australasia’s largest diversified distributors of human and animal health. The clearance signals ANZ pet-food M&A is moving, with distributors carrying health and pharma exposure (EBOS, Symbion, API) positioning as natural consolidators of regional pet-food brands.
