Albion Laboratories, Inc. (Albion Minerals) was founded in 1956 by Dr. Harvey H. Ashmead and is based in Clearfield, Utah. It manufactures patented mineral amino acid chelates, specialised mineral salts and mineral complexes (TRAACS, Ferrochel) as raw ingredients for dietary supplement, fortified food and pharmaceutical makers, plus chelated micronutrients for crops. Its animal nutrition division was sold to Novus International in 2010 and Balchem acquired the company in 2016, so it has no current pet business.
