2009年4月1日設立（前身のペットフード工業会は1969年10月設立）。国内でペットフードを製造または販売する企業100社（正会員52社・賛助会員48社、2026年9月1日現在）で構成され、ペットフード市場の90%以上をカバーする。犬猫飼育率全国調査やペットフードの安全性・品質向上を担う。会長は児玉博充（ユニ・チャーム）。
The Japan Pet Food Association comprises 100 companies (52 full + 48 supporting members as of 1 Sept 2026) manufacturing or selling pet food in Japan, covering over 90% of the market. Established 1 April 2009 (predecessor Pet Food Industry Association, Oct 1969).
