PetSmart LLC is a North American pet specialty retailer headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The company traces its origins to 1986, when it was founded in Phoenix as PetFood Warehouse and opened its first two stores in 1987. It was renamed PetSmart in 1989, went public in 1993, and was taken private in 2015 by a private equity consortium led by BC Partners.
PetSmart operates nearly 1,700 stores across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, supported by distribution centers and the PetSmart.com and PetSmart.ca websites. Its stores combine pet food, treats and supplies with services including grooming salons, dog training, PetsHotel boarding and Doggie Day Camp.
More than 700 full-service veterinary hospitals operate inside its stores, principally through Banfield Pet Hospital and PetSmart Veterinary Services. The company employs more than 50,000 associates and does not sell dogs, cats or rabbits, working instead with PetSmart Charities and animal welfare organizations on in-store adoption programs.

The Agreement requires that our vendors comply with all U.S. and foreign laws governing the products the vendor supplies to PetSmart, including laws related to the manufacture of the products
