TACKENBERG – Premium nutrition since 1974 Since 1974, TACKENBERG has stood for naturally healthy nutrition for dogs and cats. What began as pioneering work is now a modern family business with its own production facilities, in-depth expertise, and a clear mission: to create pet food of a standard that provides dogs and cats with a nutritious and healthy diet. As Germany's first professional BARF supplier, we combine over five decades of experience with state-of-the-art food technology. We produce premium pet food ourselves on our 10,000 m² site in Winsen (Luhe) near Hamburg – transparently, under strict controls and with great attention to detail. Quality as our mission What ends up in the bowl is what counts to us. That's why we take a holistic approach to pet food: scientifically sound, precisely crafted, and as natural as possible. Our raw materials are fresh and strictly tested. We only process ingredients that meet our high standards. We stand for 100% transparency, clear declarations, and absolute recipe fidelity. Preservatives, colorants, sugar, artificial flavors, or harmful fillers are out of the question for us. In-house production near Hamburg The majority of our product range is produced in our 4,000 m² production facility: BARF products, wet food in cans, sausages, and pouches, as well as air-dried chews. Our machinery enables hygienic, gentle processing and precise filling. Our BARF products are processed raw. Thanks to short transport routes, freshness and nutrients are optimally preserved. For many items, less than three weeks elapse between slaughter and delivery. Deep-freezing at a constant -18 °C preserves vitamins and natural ingredients – with a shelf life of at least 24 months without any loss of quality. Our wet food also impresses with species-appropriate recipes with a high meat content and gentle processing. Our chews are produced through a long drying process. Range for every stage of life Our BARF tradition has given rise to a wide range of premium products: BARF menus and single-variety meat, boiled BARF menus, wet food, dry food, minerals, oils and functional supplements, broths, vegetable and fruit purées, and natural chews. Whether for puppies, seniors, allergy sufferers, or sporting dogs—we offer solutions for a variety of needs. Sustainability and responsibility Sustainability is part of our daily work. We use almost entirely recyclable packaging and are continuously developing new materials. We generate a large part of our electricity using our own photovoltaic system. Intelligent energy management optimizes our processes and measurably reduces consumption. In logistics, we consolidate goods flows to reduce transport distances and emissions. As a family-owned company, we take responsibility for our region and are committed to animal welfare and conservation projects as well as educational initiatives related to animal health.
