TRIXIE Heimtierbedarf GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1974 and headquartered in Tarp, Germany (Schleswig-Holstein), is one of Europe leading suppliers of pet accessories and pet treats. The company employs around 600 people and supplies more than 30,000 pet retail stores across 100 countries with a portfolio of over 6,000 products for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small animals — including accessories, toys, treats, snacks, habitats, apparel, bedding, and travel solutions.
Approximately 90 percent of sales are generated from TRIXIE own-brand portfolio, supported by a strong in-house design team that introduces around 500 new products per year. The company was founded by Bonnik Hansen, who started with a single truckload of dog leashes, toys, and chewing bones, and grew it into a European market leader.
In 2026, US-based Central Garden and Pet Company acquired a majority stake in TRIXIE, creating a strategic partnership to expand across European pet supplies markets. TRIXIE continues to operate independently under its existing management team.
