About Tropican & Tropimix (Rolf C. Hagen)
Tropican and Tropimix are companion-bird nutrition brands developed by the Hagen Avicultural Research Institute (HARI), the avian research arm of Rolf C. Hagen Inc. HARI was established in 1985 and is one of the largest avian research centres in the world, housing more than 400 pairs of parrots and other companion bird species and working on psittacine health, nutrition and breeding. Tropican is a formulated extruded lifetime diet, while Tropimix is a 100% edible enrichment blend of grains, legumes, fruits, nuts and vegetables. Both brands are formulated, produced and tested at Hagen Industries Ltd., the wholly owned Hagen manufacturing plant and distribution centre in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada, operating since 1974. Rolf C. Hagen Inc., founded in 1955 and headquartered in Baie d'Urfe, Quebec, is the world's largest privately owned pet products manufacturer and distributor, operating in six countries and exporting to more than 50.
