The company was founded in February 1986 as the pet division of Yamahisa Corporation and became an independent company, Petio Corporation, in October 2016. It manufactures, sells and imports pet foods, treats, toys, grooming items, exercise pens, cat litter and absorbent sheets. Its brand portfolio includes AddMate, Necoco, Porta and Zuttone, and its Himeji factory in Hyogo Prefecture holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. Petio reported capital of 80 million yen and 214 employees, and its products are sold through domestic wholesalers and overseas business partners. The company is a regular member of the Japan Pet Food Association and the Japan Pet Products Manufacturers Association.
