The history of Smalls started in 2017 with a simple belief that cats deserve better. Frustrated by the lack of high-quality, species-appropriate food on store shelves, our founder, Matt Michaelson, took matters into his own hands by cooking human-grade fresh meals from scratch and sharing them with cat parents. The results spoke for themselves: happier, healthier cats with shinier coats, better digestion, and improved energy levels. What began as a small batch operation in a home kitchen quickly grew, fueled by word-of-mouth from cat parents who saw real changes in their cats. Since then, we’ve served over 25 million meals and expanded from a direct-to-consumer subscription to 250+ retail stores nationwide.
