Nigeria’s NAFDAC registers pet food as a food product (6–12 months for imports); Kenya’s KEBS enforces KS 2774:2019 (EAC-aligned); Egypt’s NFSA oversees imports (halal cert for animal-derived). Most other markets classify pet food under general animal-feed law.
