What the GlobalPetIndex company directory covers
GlobalPetIndex is a structured index of 113,443 pet industry businesses in 156 countries — manufacturers, brands, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, pet chains, importers, exporters, equipment suppliers, technology companies and industry organisations. Every entry is a company profile rather than an advertisement: it records the business type, one or more industry categories, the country, and — where the source disclosed them — the address, website, contact details, certifications, brands carried and marketplace presence.
Profiles are compiled from public company registries, trade-show exhibitor lists, brand and product data published on company websites, and direct submissions through Add a company. A record is published only once its country and business type resolve; anything that cannot be classified stays out of the public counts instead of being filed under a guess.
How the counts work. The headline figure counts published profiles — one record per company — and never counts a company twice for carrying two business types. The tables below count those same companies from two different angles, so a business that is both a manufacturer and an exporter appears in both rows: the rows overlap and must not be summed. Independent pet stores, unclassified records and exhibition-booth entries are indexed but surfaced through country pages and the retailer views rather than as headline categories.

Business type describes a company's position in the supply chain — what it does, not what it sells. It is the fastest way to narrow 113,443 profiles down to the role you are sourcing from or selling to.

Companies by country
Country is the filter buyers and researchers reach for first, and the distribution is broad: United States, China and United Kingdom hold the largest profile counts, and no single market accounts for more than a quarter of the index. Country pages carry that market's type breakdown, its company list and the trade shows held there.
